This Privacy Policy explains how Omkar Pote ("I", "me") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit itsomkarpote.com (the "Site") or buy a digital product from it. I collect as little as I can, and I never sell your data.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The Site and its digital products are run by Omkar Pote, an individual based in India. For any question about this policy or your data, contact me through the details in section 11.

2. Data I collect

When you buy a product. Payments are handled by Razorpay on its own secure checkout. Razorpay collects your payment details and shares with me only what I need to deliver your purchase and keep records: your name, email address, phone number, the amount paid, and the payment or order ID. I never receive or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank login.

When you contact me. If you use the contact form, email me, or message me on LinkedIn or X (Twitter), I receive what you send: usually your name, email address, WhatsApp number (if you share it) and your message. I use this only to reply to you.

When you browse the Site. Like most websites, the hosting provider automatically records basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. This is used to keep the Site secure and working.

Cookies. The Site does not use advertising or tracking cookies and does not currently use analytics. Razorpay may use its own cookies on its checkout page, under its own policy. If I add analytics in future, I will update this policy first.

3. How I use your data

  • To deliver the e-book and Field Kit you bought, and to help if a download fails.
  • To answer your messages and provide support.
  • To handle refunds, chargebacks and payment disputes.
  • To keep accounting and tax records required by Indian law.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the Site secure.

I will not send you marketing emails unless you have clearly asked to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.

4. Legal basis

I process your personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules. I rely on your consent, which you give when you make a purchase or contact me, and on legitimate uses such as completing the purchase you asked for and meeting legal obligations.

5. Who I share data with

I share personal data only with:

  • Razorpay, to process payments and refunds.
  • My website hosting provider, which stores the Site and its server logs.
  • Professional advisers, such as an accountant, where needed for tax and compliance.
  • Government or law enforcement authorities, only when required by law.

I never sell, rent or trade your personal data.

6. How long I keep it

Purchase and payment records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require, generally up to eight years. Support messages are kept until your query is resolved and are then deleted when no longer needed. Server logs are kept for a short period by the hosting provider.

7. How I protect it

The Site uses HTTPS encryption. Payments happen on Razorpay's secure, PCI DSS-compliant checkout, so your payment details never pass through the Site. No method of storing or sending data online is completely secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your data.

8. Your rights

You can ask me to:

  • tell you what personal data I hold about you and how it is used;
  • correct or update data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • erase your data, where I am not required by law to keep it;
  • withdraw consent you have given;
  • nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf.

You also have the right to raise a grievance with me, and if you are not satisfied with my response, with the Data Protection Board of India. I will respond to requests within 30 days.

9. Children

The Site and its products are meant for adults. If you are under 18, please use the Site and make purchases only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

10. Other websites

The Site links to Razorpay, LinkedIn and X (Twitter). These services have their own privacy policies, and I am not responsible for how they handle your data.
